about
"La Hermosa Tristeza" = The Beautiful Sadness (in Spanish)
The song was written back in 2015, in our first semester together at Swarnabhoomi Academy of Music (SAM), and this was the second song we ever wrote. The song talks about losing and then searching for yourself, running from the demons of your past and finding beauty in sadness.
Musically, it is influenced by the Mexican form of Bolero, and also from Brazilian composers like Antonio Carlos Jobim and Ivan Lins.
Further, the song, although in Spanish, has a certain sing along quality to it, and on the many occasions that we've performed this song live over the last 5 years, Anusha has made the audience sing. We wanted to recreate that feeling of having a live audience sing the refrain with us, so we put up a post on our social media, asking our friends, family members and listeners to send in their audio clips of them singing the part, and we added that in the mix.
lyrics
V1:
Deambulo, en las noches
Por la luz de la luna
Me pregunto, si aparecieras
Me quedaría o huiría
CH:
La hermosa tristeza (x4)
V2:
Las memorias de mi ayer
Me deben, me deben emocionar
Pero solo aumentan mi inquietud
Nunca me permiten olvidar
CH:
La hermosa tristeza (x4)
BR:
Ooooooh
The rivers of your eyes flow
and capture the light of this night
Teardrops fall and turn into fireflies
A searching song, can she hear the sound
Of the voice that songs within?
It tells her to find a place in her mind
To truly disappear
V1:
Deambulo, en las noches
Por la luz de la luna
Me pregunto, si aparecieras
Me quedaría o huiría
CH:
La hermosa tristeza (x4)
