I try/ desperately/ to be with others/ to spend time/ to listen/ to watch/ and to talk with them./ But all that plays in my mind,/ like a broken record,/ is her face/ and her voice/ and her words/ and her eyes./ My memory seems to have grasped/ a single look upon her face,/ of surprise,/ and the eyes are like pools of green/ inviting me to jump into their depths/ and wade in them/ forevermore.
There is no respite,/ and I spend half a mind doing the things I'm doing,/ saying the things I'm saying,/ and the other half drowning/ in the green-blue horizon. It feels natural/ to spend hours reflecting upon her,/ mind to body, body to mind,/ masticating over a thought expressed/ or a song shared/or an emotion that rose up into her face,/imprinted deeply upon me.

That I deserve the world.
I refuse to attach any physicality to it./ I refuse to allow myself to imagine it./ But as I go about my day,/ an image sneaks up on me.(deep breath)/Kissing her./Holding her./Watching her./ Touching her./ With love./ With respect./I relive the tight embrace/ where we breathed in so deep,/ and I feel awe that I touched her.
But sometimes,/ when I leave this dream world/ and come to reality,/ I feel an ache settle in my belly./ As I showered today,/ I felt some despair./ Because I felt like if this doesn't work,/ I will never be capable of loving anyone/ ever again.
